Fine-Tune Your Restorative, The Power in the Subtly
October 31st | 1-4pm
RESTORATIVE YOGA is a gentle inward form of yoga that invites you to bring greater balance and ease into your life. The body rests comfortably while fully supported by props, creating an opportunity for the mind to slow down with the use of pranayama, visualization and mantra…all allowing you to turn inside. Poses are passive in that there is no muscular contraction involved, so there is no level of strength called upon.
During this 3-hour workshop, we will work with the nuances of what makes this practice so special and effective by closely reviewing the alignment principles of the poses, enabling you/your students to find new levels of comfort. We’ll identify modifications for pre- and post-natal bodies, as well as those with healing joints, using various prop set-up and body positioning to ensure rest is accessible to all.
Including 75 minutes in a deeply restorative session, there will be an opportunity to apply the newly learned techniques for optimized rest, taking your experience to a deeper level of comfort, peace and renewal.
A restorative practice is a complement to any yoga practice or other form of exercise. It is perfect for almost any practitioner looking to experience a deeper state of relaxation and healing. It is also a perfect practice for those recovering from injury or illness or for anyone who experiences stress on a daily basis.
This workshop is open to all and provides attendees with tools to optimize the restorative practice for themselves or their students, in a group setting or at home. All students/teachers are welcome and encouraged to attend! Handout provided. Three (3) CEU’s available. Class is limited to 6 students.
Social Distancing is required and masks are worn. Please bring your mat and any props you’d like including: blankets, bolsters, blocks, straps, eye pillows.
