Harmonium 101 – For yoga teachers and Indian music enthusiasts who want to incorporate harmonium into their asana classes or begin a home chanting practice.
An introduction to the Bhakti Path, the Indian Deities, and the instrument itself. We’ll talk about the importance of maintaining a steady seat, a fluid tone, and how regular practice can create a lasting effect on the way we think and feel.
The subtle body can be disturbed or calmed based on vibration. Indian music can help create more peace in the mind and body.
Sound rides on the breath. So we’ll focus on some foundational breathing techniques to help your voice open up and express authentically and expressively.
We’ll also talk about the importance time and melody, the musical ingredients for creating balanced sound, and you’ll learn to play a few chants.
